I believe every home deserves flowers. Their colour, beauty and ability to lift the spirit shape everything I create. But flowers are more than decoration — they’re my way of painting joy, freedom and optimism, bringing bold, contemporary energy into a space.

Creativity has always been part of me. Although I built a career as an NHS midwife — a role I cherish — the pull towards painting never left. Art offers something different: a place to breathe, express and lose myself completely in colour.

Returning to painting as an adult has been transformative. Through workshops, independent study and countless hours in the studio, I’ve developed the distinctive floral style that defines my work today.

Working primarily with acrylics and inks, I paint intuitively, building layers of vibrant colour, expressive brushstrokes and gestural marks. I rarely begin with a fixed plan; each piece evolves through instinct and movement, resulting in paintings that feel spontaneous, energetic and alive.

I’m most in my element in my studio — surrounded by colour, music, and my Siamese companion Dennis — where the rhythm of painting feels effortless and joyful.

My work has been selected for Art in Arcadia in Leeds, where it will feature in the city‑centre art trail, and I will exhibit at Fusion Art Fair Harrogate in March 2027.

At the heart of my practice is a simple belief: art changes how a home feels. My paintings bring colour, joy and personality into uplifting, happy spaces — creating homes that feel vibrant, warm and full of life.
